Programme - Partners

Giving scholarship holders the opportunity to showcase their work and thereby convey current trends in contemporary art to a wider audience is of central importance to the Künstlerhaus Lukas, and when it comes to creating work opportunities like that for artists, partners are vital. There are several different cooperation partners for the holders of scholarship that provide them with the opportunity to organize readings, exhibitions, concerts and performances.

On a more local scale, these partners are the Neues Kunsthaus in Ahrenshoop, the Literaturhaus in Rostock, the art museum and the Kunstkaten in Ahrenshoop, the Galerie hinter dem Rathaus in Wismar, the Galerie im Kloster Ribnitz-Damgarten, the Literaturzentrum im Koeppenhaus, the freiraum-publishing house in Greifswald, and the film art festival Schwerin. In order to support graduates from art academies and colleges, there is also a close cooperation with the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Institute of the University of Greifswald and the Faculty design at Wismar University of Applied Sciences.

An especially close cooperation exists with the Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop. Initially, there were three exhibitions being held there as well as several events during which the scholarship holders had the opportunity to collaborate. Since 2009, however, the entire programme centers around the works of the scholarship holders. The aim is first and foremost to support the projects of the holders of the curator scholarships as well as those of young artists.

The EDITION HOHES UFER AHRENSHOOP, run by both houses, publishes original graphic book collections, catalogues or books.

On the last Sunday of every month, the holders of scholarships invite the interested public to an open day at the Künstlerhaus Lukas to give them an insight into their work. In addition to these open days, public events take place in the presentation halls.
The house takes part in a long night of art and the literature days in Ahrenshoop in cooperation with other institutions of culture and the municipality of the resort.

It is of particular importance for the Künstlerhaus Ahrenshoop e.V. to promote connection and communication between artists and institutions from Northern Europe and the countries bordering the Baltic Sea. In order to achieve this goal of intercultural communication and focussed individual work, residency scholarships abroad are awarded to artists.

At present, our partners in the international exchange program for artists are Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators Visby/Sweden, KKV Graphicworkshop & KKV Sculptureworkshop Monumental Malmö/Sweden, Fyns Grafiske Værksted Odense/Denmark, Gæsteatelier Hollufgård/Denmark, Mooste Külalis Stuudio Eesti - MoKS Mooste/Iceland, NES Artist Residency Skagaströnd/Iceland, National Centre for Contemporary Arts Kaliningrad/Russian Federation.
